I believe in God and the freedom of religion, but I don't push it on others.

I ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and drive American-made cars, and I believe in American products and buy them whenever I can.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and not some liberal governmental functionary, Democratic or Republican, that wants to share it with others who don't work!

Sigh, some Black folks (it’s ok- I'm Black too) really take this “It takes a village to raise a child" stuff too far. 

Recently, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry famously said in this much quoted excerpt, 

“…we’ve always had a private notion of children, your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children. So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities."

Hmm, so when Thomas Jefferson (yes, I know he owned slaves) promoted universal public education for American youth, was this the act of someone with a “private notion of children?” 

Sheriff Marlon GusmanNew Orleans criminal justice system isn't broken -- it's simply non-existent by most modern standards.

The spotlight is on Orleans Parish Prison (OPP) -- equivalent to a county detention center. Civil rights abuse claims abound, as do allegations of incompetence.

Brunswick, GA city commissioner and mayor pro tem James Henry Brooks should be ashamed of himself for interfering in this extremely hot button murder case.

His bungling reminds me yet again that Black faces in high places don't necessarily mean color blind governance!

Quite the contrary, as we see.

Brooks attempted to assist the prime suspect's mother by advising her not to talk to an officer who'd approached her.

Memo to Black elected officials: dipping segregation era interposition and nullification in chocolate doesn't make it any less wrong!

This case promises to heighten tensions in ways that will make Blacks who practice racial double standards when it comes to crime rue the day they did so.

Bet on it!

A 13 month old baby is dead and justice for him and closure for his family should be the only priority – not running interference for a murder suspect and the mother covering for him.

Mr. Brooks set a new low with this stunt.

 My maternal grandmother was a retired social studies teacher and traditional American. Each epic downturn away from once unquestioned precepts prompted in-depth discussion and shared concern for America's future that strengthen me to this day. 

On Wednesday, March 28, 2013, Jenna Wolfe, a weekend host of NBC's “Today Show” made two announcements which would have shocked my late Grand Ma: 

She not only said she was pregnant, but also that she was involved with a female reporter from another network. 

I've yet to understand why upper income female homosexuals opt to have children. Lower income ones do so to qualify for public assistance, something unnecessary for a pair of national network reporters. 

Grand Ma and I would have grappled with the apparent contradiction of a pregnant female couple and extrapolated this development in the Black community, where uniting a moribund heterosexual family unit should be our top priority. 

It hurt having to watch Grand Ma experience profound disappointment has values fell away in the community and America like layers of an onion. 

The Greatest Generation's dubious reward for surviving the Great Depression, World War II, Jim Crow and the Cold War shouldn't have been a country hell-bent on tossing God and traditional values into the ash bin of history. 

Everything that makes healthy civilizations seems under successful attack by those anxious to re-create the fall of ancient Rome and Greece on these shores. 

As I attempt to wrap my flexible but appalled mind around the paradox of pregnant lesbians, it's clear this is yet another modern topic Grand Ma wouldn't have understood.

Darien Long, Atlanta's famous "Kick A$$ Mall Cop" has been arrested for tackling a trespassing suspect he'd banned from his facility. 

Local police say he couldn't produce a trespassing notice to substantiate his claim. As a Georgian who did thug management there, I know a trespass notice isn't required to ban someone from private property. 

Trespass notices are used to summarily order someone's arrest should he return after being issued one by police at the direction of a merchant or his designee. 

Hopefully this bogus charge will be dropped.

Long's story is one of how American Blacks who dare practice safety rights like other (read: White) Americans, stand in marked contrast to the hostage role written by an unlikely, unholy union: chocolate Klansmen (Black thugs) and local police who feel we shouldn't oppose them. 

This unlikely, unholy union handcuffs law abiding citizens who, were they not Black, wouldn't worry about whether otherwise lawful self-defense acts will be used against them Jim Crow judo style. 

Quite a Catch 22… 

It shows that we haven't overcome as much as some think. 

As a Black male anti-crime activist, I know only too well how tight a tight rope I walk when dealing with chocolate Klansmen and law enforcement. 

I know I don't get the benefit of the doubt White concerned citizens often take for granted. I'm more likely to be viewed as just another suspect and as such have governed 20 years of private officer and safety rights activities accordingly. 

Lest readers think I've gone liberal – far from it! 

This is simply being honest about the double-standard American Blacks can face when availing ourselves of the 2nd Amendment, state self-defense and private security statutes. 

Police culture hasn't quite arrived at the conclusion that all of those in the Hood aren't hoods and thus is prone to lump us all in the same criminal category.  

While Darien Long has numerous White supporters worldwide, I can't help but wonder how well received his one-man line of defense has been by elements of the Atlanta Police department – of any color? 

Until American Blacks de-Klan the Hood, it encourages some cops to view all of us as trouble makers, ironically even those trying to stop trouble itself! 

Darien Long is an urban safety scapegoat and represents unsung heroes punished for being Americans daring self-defense... while Black!

A liberal ex-girlfriend brow beat me yesterday on the phone over the "debt" she felt I owed progressive social policies.

This is nothing new, but she was particularly pronounced - maybe because we hadn't talked in a while.

To her credit, despite being a die-hard Democrat, she's highly intelligent and an accomplished advisor to businesses, established and startups.

I wonder how someone like that can be a Democrat but somehow she pulls it off. Her resume should have her squarely on the Republican side of the ledger.

Sadly, that doesn't stop her from attempting to "convert" me away from conservatism, which she equates to effectively supporting policies contrary to my best interests.

She fails to see that embracing leftist moral relativism and its anti-capitalist creed would do nothing to help me as an individual.

Undermining traditional marriage alone in Black America's two-parent desert means a suicide pact dooming us to even more rudderless children and horrific headlines.

Extolling the virtues of Obama (yeah right!), social security, unemployment insurance, and affirmative action as if they don't need serious reform, ensures she one day won't have any businesses left to advise.

Middle class Black liberals preach a lot of socialism but always overlook their ironic role as beneficiaries of capitalism.

She worked hard to have marketable skills yet advocates government giveaways for low income American Blacks without marketable skills.

She helps other people make money, but supports tax policies which undermine producers of wealth and jobs.

She wants race-based preferences in education and employment while also blasting the boogeyman of White privilege.

I have plenty of White friends who feel anything but privileged these days, with millions more screaming agreement.

I can't support the Progressive policy purgatory.

The America I grew up in has been ruled by them since the 1960s and has subsidized a wave of vulgarity, violence and general dysfunction the likes of which put old Soviet Russia to shame.

My ex-girlfriend really thinks joining her bandwagon would be a step forward for me.

Sadly, the world she invites me to join is a wasteland where folks like her do all the right things to succeed in a capitalist system, while not demanding the same of those they try to help.

I want far, far more for Americans in need than life sentences to a Progressive purgatory where nothing improves except the lot of do-nothing overseers.

That's why I've avoided it for years!

As if Detroit and the general crisis in the national Hood wasn't enough, now comes the latest outrage: Mr. Jesse Rutledge, an 88 year old Tuskegee Airman, was recently car jacked at gun point by a demonic quartet of what I call “junior chocolate Klansmen.” 

Their estimated age was 13 years old. 

This immediately reminded me of the 1994 assault and home invasion of civil rights icon Rosa Parks, also in Detroit, at 81 years old.    

Surviving Nazis and their American counter parts in the Jim Crow South is rewarded by being attacked by out-of-control Black youth some bleeding heart is always enabling.    

Insult to injury was added in the Rosa Parks case when Joseph Skipper confessed to knowing who she was when he attacked her. 

This confession was made to a priest who caught him burglarizing the church he pastored. 

Disgusting is putting it mildly. 

Mr. Rutledge attackers were arrested (thank God!) and once again, American Blacks with sense are faced with the aftermath of juvenile jackals roaming our community. 

Congratulations little “brothers,” George W. Bush gave this hero and his peers a medal. 

You four could have given him a heart attack or a gunshot wound! 

Way to go!

“I’m an ex offender trying to stop the next offender " – Paul McKinley 

There's something very familiar about Illinois GOP congressional candidate Paul McKinley.

I grew up with men like him. In his past criminal life, I've opposed those like his previous self all my adult life. 

Urban thugs inspired my phrase, “chocolate Klansmen.” 

I also support the few who climb out of the grave of crime and ignorance smothering neighborhoods like the ones in which he and I grew up.

His ex-con background is getting a lot of press, ironically, from the same mainstream media otherwise reliably soft on crime. 

It seems their embrace of urban rehabilitation stops short of Black men running as Republicans. 

To be fair, the Chicago GOP establishment hasn't received him with open arms either. 

Herein lies the dilemma… 

Inner city reformers like McKinley are representative of life within these Democrat-held areas. While purists balk at his diction, it is the same language spoken daily in an America few Republicans dare visit. 

His advocacy against Chicago's infamous “Machine" and support of traditional marriage and gun rights are what the inner city needs to hear more from traditionalists from there. 

He can't be dismissed as a trust fund baby. 

He can't be accused of acting “too White" (a typical Democrat charge) for such an urban district. 

He knows life there with an intimacy few critics or even distant supporters can match. Very rarely do people escape such hopelessness. 

In Paul McKinley, America witnesses a truly Hood conservative who has lived the worst of the inner city and now wants to help save it.

Presenter K Carl Smith's, "Trump The Race Card" session at CPAC Friday had an audience member who posed the following question:

"Why can’t we be more like Booker T. Washington Republicans, and his famous statement: 'Let’s be unified like the hand but separate like the fingers?'"

Mr Smith responded by citing Frederick Douglass letter to his former slave master in which he forgave him.

Undeterred, the questioner, replied, "For giving him food and shelter all those years?"

I chuckle at this statement while recalling how Douglass fought his slave master for two hours to win his freedom.
